A Note from Mama Bird:

It is my pleasure to introduce to Mama Bird, Emma Turner and Amy Labuda! 

Emma and Amy will be working alongside my efforts to provide expert postpartum care!

 

As I continue to focus on supporting families with breastfeeding in those initial days and weeks after birth, my incredible Postpartum Doulas will be there to provide continuous support and Continuity of Care that is SO crucial during the transition into mothering!  Emma & Amy are individuals I can trust 100% with the families I work with, who honor and understand the postpartum period,  who have breastfed their own babies and who truly understand the breastfeeding relationship!

 

A Note from Emma:

“My passion for helping families has grown through the years.  It all began by listening to the stories of a midwife/doula who worked with me as a farmer.  Since then, I have strived to help families prioritize time with their babies after birth, by providing support as a caregiver. After having
my own child, a curiosity for learning as much about birth and the postpartum period was
sparked.  I realized I could use all the tools I had gathered through my life to work as a doula.

Now, I aim to base my care around making community more accessible to your family, helping you trust in your innate instincts, and giving you space and time to connect with your baby during the most important hours after the birth!

My goal: I want to set you up for success as a new parent. From our first time meeting together, I will listen to your concerns and thoughts about your family's journey.  With access to a community of trusted professionals, we can work in tandem to make sure your family is given the resources and care to thrive.”

A Note from Amy:

"My passion for birth work began after I had my daughter Magnolia who was born at home in 2001 with a midwife and a fantastic doula.  l felt so empowered and supported through this pregnancy, birth and postpartum season and could not have done it without my “village".  Because of their support, I was able to confidently embrace my new role as a mama and breastfeed my daughter for 2 1/2 years. 

After this experience, I felt called to be with women as they transition into motherhood.

I, then, became a birth doula!  My passion led me further to become a labor and delivery nurse, and eventually a nurse midwife.  As a midwife working with women in the postpartum period, I came to realize how vital support is during this transitional time.  I’m excited to continue my journey of caring for mamas and families as a doula!  I want to help you to feel confident in your new role, and support you and your family during this precious time.

My goal is to help you learn and connect with your baby , to help you with your breastfeeding journey, and to give you space to rest, to heal and to bond with your new babe.  I look forward to discussing your vision and goals with you and your family."
